Tiberius Aerospace, a company developing next-generation weapon systems and AI-powered defense solutions for the United States, United Kingdom and allied nations, announced on August 19 that its INVICTUS tube-launched ramjet-powered missile is moving from early laboratory investigation to prove the concept into formal engineering Test & Evaluation (T&E) development.
INVICTUS is meant to mature into a multi multi-mission system designed for integration across multiple platforms and domains thanks to its tube/canister-launch capability. It can be adapted to fit vertical launch systems, artillery launchers such as HIMARS or find a place on autonomous vehicles operating across land and sea.
INVICTUS is the second RamJet-centric, high speed weapon that Tiberius Aerospace is developing. The first is SCEPTRE, an advanced, long range 155 mm shell launched in May 2025 and which has since obtained funding from both the United Kingdom and the United States. It recently demonstrated successful ramjet ignition during live firing in the US.
Progress with SCEPTRE’s own ramjet has facilitated the accelerated transition of the INVICTUS toward an engineering program focused on validating propulsion, flight performance, guidance, platform integration and manufacturability through formal testing. Direct-connect testing of the INVICTUS ramjet engine is already underway at Purdue’s Zucrow Laboratories.
INVICTUS is currently targeting a 180 – 200 km range with a speed of up to Mach 3. Its defining characteristic is the ramjet propulsion with integral booster that enables launch straight from the tube, at zero velocity for the launcher. The payload, intended to be modular, is currently undisclosed.
Guidance, at least initially, is aiming at an hybrid GPS – Inertial solution to give a Circular Error Probable of no more than 5.5 meters. Tiberius Aerospace is using its GRAIL artificial intelligence to simplify the weapon design and engineer it for affordability and mass production.
