G3 Systems Limited, a British company renowned for its 23-year track record in developing deployable containerized solutions, has secured a contract to provide 6 additional Mobile Roller Brake Testing (MRBT) systems for Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), with delivery scheduled for completion by March 2025. The initial contract for 12 MRBTs had been signed in 2018.
This contract, awarded by the MoD's Operational Infrastructure team under Project AMPHORA, will be announced at DVD (18/19 September 2024), where G3 Systems will showcase their defence capabilities at stand C4-401. Project AMPHORA aims to support multiple containerized deployable systems crucial for sustaining military operations and exemplifies the MoD's strategy of utilizing industry expertise to maintain high operational standards for mission-critical vehicles, both during overseas deployments and exercises.
The MRBT systems are designed to meet rigorous military operational requirements, including testing vehicles up to 20 t per axle and accommodating wheel diameters up to 2 m while complying with SIM 14 standards set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
G3 Systems' design prioritizes user-friendliness, allowing two trained operators to set up the system in under two hours and prepare it for relocation in less than an hour. Nick Rose, Managing Director of G3 Systems, expressed enthusiasm about supporting the UK MoD with the MRBT capability under Project AMPHORA, highlighting the company's role in providing agile and effective solutions for military infrastructure in challenging environments.
G3 Systems has over 20 years of experience in designing and building deployable containerized solutions, which are a key component of their equipment and infrastructure offerings. These solutions encompass a variety of applications, including engineering workshops, technical equipment, medical facilities, and deployable shelters that can be soft, hard, or hybrid in nature. A notable recent project involving G3 Systems' containerized solutions was their work with the Royal Navy on the Persistent Operational Deployable Systems, commonly referred to as NavyPODS.
In this project, G3 Systems successfully delivered four systems designed to support the Royal Navy's heavy-lift drone capability. The containerized solutions were specifically engineered to transport, control, and maintain drones, showcasing the company’s ability to meet complex operational requirements. Remarkably, this project was completed in just 12 weeks, highlighting G3 Systems' agility and expertise in delivering timely solutions.
The capabilities of G3 Systems' containerized solutions include interchangeability, interconnectivity, and seamless integration with existing systems. These features ensure adaptability for various environments and purposes, allowing for a rapid response to diverse operational needs, especially in austere or challenging locations. As containerized solutions become a standard in all military applications, especially data visualization environments, underwater vehicles, C2 planning centres, and technology test beds, G3 Systems' approach sets them apart from competitors through a combination of extensive experience and innovative practices. Their holistic approach considers the entire lifecycle of projects, resulting in sustainable products that are easily adaptable, maintainable, and repairable, thus reducing the logistic burden for end users and often extending capabilities beyond their original design life.
As the recent successes in both the land and naval sector demonstrate, they excel at customizing and integrating diverse payloads into cohesive systems that meet international standards for safe transport and operation. Furthermore, the company offers a comprehensive service that goes beyond technical implementation, encompassing training, technical support, and full life sustainment activities.
This combination of experience, holistic approach, rapid delivery, customization capabilities, and comprehensive service is reinforcing G3 Systems’ position in the market, as well as serving the company’s ambition to be a leader in the field of containerized solutions.
