Yesterday, Leonardo finalised the acquisition process of GEM Elettronica, an Italian company based in San Benedetto del Tronto (Ascoli Piceno) and specialising in the production of radar, optronic equipment, cartographic equipment, inertial navigation and command and control systems.

In April 2021, Leonardo had acquired a 30% stake in the company's share capital as well as the possibility of increasing its share and take control of the company through an option to be exercised by 2024. Through this operation, worth 16 million euros, Leonardo now holds a 65% stake in GEM's share capital.
