Combat debut for the F-35C

Last weekend, several F-35Cs from Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 314 (VMFA-314, the first Marine squadron to be embarked on an aircraft carrier), deployed aboard the aircraft carrier USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN-72), participated in a series of airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen.
This is likely the F-35C's combat debut, or at least the first time it has been publicly acknowledged.
In response to the attacks, on Monday, the Houthis launched 8 drones, 5 ballistic missiles, and 4 cruise missiles at the USS STOCKDALE (DDG-106) and USS SPRUANCE (DDG-111), ARLEIGH BURKE-class guided-missile destroyers, all of which were shot down by US Navy units.
