150 THAAD Interceptors Used by the U.S. in the 12-Day War: A Heavy Bill 29/07/2025 | EDITORIAL TEAM

According to CNN, citing sources familiar with the operation, the United States may have fired up to 150 THAAD interceptors during the 12-Day War with Iran to counter incoming Iranian ballistic missiles.

In financial terms, that translates into nearly $2 billion, considering that each interceptor costs between $12 million and $15 million. From a stockpile perspective, the U.S. may have expended roughly 25% of its current THAAD inventory.

One THAAD battery, it’s worth recalling, is deployed on Israeli territory south of Kiryat Gat, together with the powerful AN/TPY-2 X-band radar, which provides long-range detection, tracking, and fire control support.
