Beechcraft M-346N, the ‘American’ M-346 to train US Navy pilots 31/07/2025 | CAROLINA PAIZS

As part of the partnership between Textron Aviation Defense and Leonardo for the Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS) programme, it has been announced that the Beechcraft M-346N – the US variant of the M-346 – will be offered as a replacement for the US Navy's T-45 aircraft. Beechcraft, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Defense, is a historic and iconic brand in the US aviation industry.

The “offer” follows the Requests for Information issued by the US Navy ahead of the future Request for Proposals, expected in December, for between 180 and 206 aircraft. The Beechcraft M-346N, based on Leonardo's M-346 Block 20, will therefore be proposed as an “American” aircraft (a decision consistent with the industrial relocation policies promoted during the Trump administration).
