Following this morning's U.S. and Israeli strikes - which, after the first two waves previously reported, continued throughout the day targeting ballistic missile launchers, radar systems, and anti-aircraft batteries - Iran has responded by launching ballistic missiles against Israel and US bases in the region.
In detail, Israel was targeted by approximately 40 missiles in 9/10 salvos (from 9:10 AM to 3:34 PM Italian time), consisting of small salvos of a handful of missiles each; to these is added at least one wave of SHAHED-136 drones reaching Israel at the time of writing (3:40 PM, CET). Almost all Iranian assets were intercepted by Israeli air defenses, but at least one missile struck Haifa and another hit Ashkelon, plus a third missile in an area not yet identified. The initial salvos were primarily directed at Haifa and the Beer Sheva area, while subsequent attacks extended to the Tel Aviv area and the rest of the country.
Shortly after the first launches against the Jewish State, the attack against US military bases in the region started. Specifically, the following were targeted: Al Udeid (Qatar), Al Dhafra (Abu Dhabi, UAE), Ali al Salem (Kuwait), Muwaffaq Salti (Jordan, 2 missiles intercepted and one on target—though it reportedly landed outside the base perimeter), Prince Sultan (Saudi Arabia), Erbil (Iraq), and the facility in Bahrain (Naval Support Activity Bahrain).
The latter, in particular, was initially hit by at least one ballistic missile and one SHAHED-136 drone (which struck a radar radome, pictured), and is under missile attack once again at the time of writing, with several impacts recorded. At least one impact was also recorded at the Ali al Salem base, causing extensive damage to one of the runways.
Missiles launched against other bases were intercepted by air defenses, which were highly active particularly in Doha and Abu Dhabi, where the highest number of missiles were recorded (at least 10 for each city). An impact was also recorded in Dubai, likely caused by missile debris following an interception.
